Morgan changed meds from Adderall 5mg to Concerta 18mg.

We did not get to talk to the teachers Friday about the change and what they saw, but Friday night he was more focused and better able to even enjoy his sleepover. He had no arguements with his friend and was not at all over emotional.

Saturday we saw more focus and more independence, more thoughtful questions, a better recognition of social cues and more independence. He was such a big boy at the birthday party today. I didn't stay in a big effort to give him more independence. It was at the roller skating rink upstairs at the mall, so I went and got him all set up and then checked in every 30 minutes or so. He was so good and there has been no emotionality at all.

Our 6 year old is on Concerta, and wow! It is the first med we've tried him on, so I can't say anything about how it works for him v. other meds, but we're seeing consistent improvement as we adjust his dosage to try to find the right level.

His doctor started him at 18 mg., then he was briefly on 27 mg., and he's on day 4 of his 36 mg. dosage.

We had three whole days without a single rage of throwing things, hurting himself or others, and the few (much much smaller) tantrums he had were relatively easily diverted.

Luckily we don't suffer with tantrums at all. We did start to see them on the Adderall, which was so hard.

Morgan's big problem is the constant motion, constant talking, no focus and inablity to finish anything ever.

We can now brush teeth in less than 20 minutes.
Yay for victories.

Hell yeah yay for victories! :) We "caught" Eric playing BY HIMSELF Saturday. I damn near cried.

And yes, you are lucky. Eric was getting to the point of physically attacking people if he didn't get his way (something he didn't like for supper, time to do homework, let's get out of the tub now, etc.)
